April 22, 2026 (Toronto, ON) – Keilhauer has been recognized once again as one of Canada’s Greenest Employers by the Canada’s Top 100 Employers project—marking the 13th time the North American furniture manufacturer has received this prestigious honor.
This designation recognizes organizations for their environmental leadership. Winners are chosen based on sustainability efforts, reduced environmental impact, and employee participation in green programs central to their culture.
“Being named one of Canada’s Greenest Employers is meaningful because it reflects the daily choices our teams make—designing with intention, investing in better materials, and continually raising the bar on how we operate,” says Meghan Sherwin, President of Keilhauer. “Sustainability isn’t a single initiative for us; it’s a mindset that shapes every product we bring to market and every step we take toward a healthier future.”
To determine the winners, the editors of Canada’s Top 100 Employers evaluate organizations based on four criteria:
- The unique environmental initiatives and programs developed
- Success in reducing the organization’s environmental footprint
- Employee involvement and contribution of unique skills
- The extent to which these initiatives are embedded in the organization’s public identity
Sustainability Highlights Contributing to Keilhauer’s 2025 Submission
- Keilhauer’s Design for Environment Committee ensures that sustainable design is not an afterthought. It is built into the process for developing every product we launch.
- Carbon Disclosure Project Reporting: In 2024 Keilhauer earned a score of “SME B” – the highest possible for an organization of its size.
- Keilhauer launched 8 new product lines as carbon neutral in 2025 and has updated 3 existing products with Life Cycle Assessments and 3rd party verified Environmental Product Declarations.
- Donated 621 pounds of surplus materials through a partnership with Pass the Feather – Indigenous Arts Collective of Canada, supporting the preservation of Indigenous art forms and culture
- Published Keilhauer’s annual Corporate Sustainability Report, reinforcing the company’s commitment to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) transparency
Keilhauer has a long-standing history of environmental stewardship. Since the early 2000s, the company has invested in clean electricity credits and waste diversion initiatives. Today, Keilhauer operates zero‑waste‑to‑landfill facilities, has virtually eliminated water use in manufacturing processes, and offers more than 30 carbon‑neutral product families. The company prioritizes responsible material sourcing, including FSC®‑certified wood and textiles with recycled content produced in zero‑waste, clean‑water, and carbon‑neutral facilities.
