April 22, 2025 (Toronto) – In celebration of Earth Day, Keilhauer is proud to announce the publication of its 2025 Corporate Sustainability Report, reaffirming the company’s longstanding commitment to environmental responsibility, transparency, and continuous progress.
“At Keilhauer, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do—from product design and material sourcing to our showroom spaces that inspire creativity,” says Meghan Sherwin, President. “Our annual Corporate Sustainability Report is an opportunity to not only share our progress, but also to encourage others in our industry to join us in building a more sustainable future for everyone.”
Among the major milestones detailed in the 2024 report, Keilhauer proudly achieved BIFMA LEVEL® 3 certification, the highest possible tier in this leading multi-attribute sustainability standard for commercial furniture. The BIFMA standard establishes criteria for environmental, health & wellness, and social impacts during the product life cycle.
The company also launched five new carbon-neutral product families—Abl, Dais, Fridae, Swish, and Toob—and achieved carbon-neutral certification for existing products Foryu and Neesh, bringing Keilhauer’s total to 26 certified carbon-neutral product families. The Dais lounge chair stood out in particular, earning seven different industry sustainability awards for its minimalist, resource-conscious design.
In line with its mission to minimize environmental impact across all aspects of its business, Keilhauer also redesigned its flagship New York showroom with a sustainability-first approach combined with an elevated, design-forward aesthetic. The renovation prioritized responsibly sourced materials, including carpet with net-positive carbon and water impacts; stone and tile from suppliers operating on 100% recovered wastewater and solar power; and retrofitted lighting, appliances, and HVAC systems for maximum energy efficiency.
On a global level, Keilhauer formalized its commitment to sustainable development by joining the United Nations SDG Actions Platform—a global registry of volunteer initiatives supporting the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
The report also spotlights the sustainable operations of Keilhauer’s North American manufacturing facilities, where all of it’s products are made. In 2024, the company achieved an impressive 85.5% waste diversion rate, supported by a rigorous waste reduction program featuring 17 separate diversion streams—including recycling office supplies, electronics, and production materials. Keilhauer also commits to annual energy and carbon reduction initiatives, such as the investment in renewable energy credits.
