February 22, 2019 (Toronto) – Just when you thought the Orign conference chair couldn’t get better, Keilhauer is introducing a High Back model to the line, taking sophistication and comfort to new heights.

Designed by EOOS, Orign exudes professionalism and high design details. Its embracing form is a softer, more casual take on conferencing which encourages individuals to come as they are and feel comfortable.

“We designed Orign with its slim outline, soft cushion, invisible mechanism and perfect ride to be the conference chair of today,” said Martin Bergmann of EOOS.

A deceptively simple form hides Orign’s fully ergonomic functions from view. Knee tilt functions are entirely internal, as are the spring mechanisms which allow for the seamless absorption of seat and back pressure. Perfect synchronization of movement in the chair’s seat and back is owed to a uniquely engineered connection at the two pivot points, allowing users to lean back to any angle or posture they desire with full support.

“At Keilhauer, our goal is to make every work environment a little more comfortable,” said Mike Keilhauer, President, Keilhauer. “The tall, poised stature, clean lines and beautiful stitching detail of the Orign High Back add simple sophistication to a room. The design details ensure that the furniture feels relaxed, casual and warm, creating a chair that you just want to spend time in.”

Orign was recognized with a Gold Award in the Conference Seating Category at the prestigious Best of NeoCon Awards ceremony in 2018.

Quality & Sustainability

As with all Keilhauer furniture, Orign is built from the highest quality materials, is designed and manufactured to last for many years, and is supported by a standard 10-year warranty. It is tested to support 350 pounds per seat for the duration of its use, while Keilhauer upholstery options are tested for high durability and color fastness..

Orign carries BIFMA LEVEL® 2 (Gold) and SCS Global Services certification for Indoor Air Quality at the Indoor Advantage ™ Gold level. It is manufactured in facilities that produce zero waste to landfill and offset 100 per cent of electricity usage with renewable energy credits.

To minimize the product’s energy and resource use in the production and extraction phases of its lifecycle, Orign was carefully designed to incorporate recycled material. Without sacrificing comfort, the conference chair was also designed to minimize the use of foam and decrease waste at the end of the product’s lifecycle.

About EOOS

Martin Bergmann was born in 1963 in Lienz/East Tyrol, Gernot Bohmann in 1968 in Krieglach/Styria and Harald Gründl in 1967 in Vienna. All three studied industrial design at the University of Applied Arts Vienna and founded EOOS in 1995. The studios name is inspired from Ovid´s Metamorphosis, the name of one of the four chariot horses of the sun god Helios. EOOS developed “Poetical Analysis” as a research tool that the designers use to investigate rituals, myths and intuitive imagery and employ as the departure point for their designs. For them, design is a poetical discipline, which oscillates between the realm of the archaic and high-tech. EOOS operates in the fields of furniture, product, shop and social design.
